What to expect.
Walking groups in Montreal are the easiest first visit on this site: a fixed day, a meeting point and an hour or two of conversation at an ordinary pace. Many run in the daytime, which makes them one of the few options for people who do not want another evening out.
Some are organised through a club with a small annual fee that covers insurance. Most are free and just turn up.
