Privacy
There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking pixels from anyone else. Here is the complete list of what we keep, and why.
Visitors
We use PostHog for analytics, hosted in the US. It records page views and a handful of events: which club links people click, which filters they use, when someone opens the “not running?” form. It sets a cookie so repeat visits count as one visitor. We don’t know who you are, we don’t sell or share this, and we look at it to decide what to build next. The one number we care about is how many people click through to a club’s page.
“Not running?” reports
Reporting a club needs no name or email. We store the club, what you told us, and a one-way hash of your network address mixed with a secret. The hash lets us tell two people apart from one person twice, and stops a script from marking every club quiet. It cannot be turned back into your address. Reports count for 30 days and are marked resolved once a human or a sweep has dealt with them.
Submitting a club
Adding a club asks for your name and email so we can ask a question if the details don’t add up. They are shown only to the person reviewing the submission, never on the site, and are removed from our database as soon as the submission is approved or declined. What you tell us about the club is kept, as part of the club’s record. The same hashed network address as above is stored to limit submissions to a few a day.
Clubs and organisers
We store facts about clubs: name, where they meet, when, and the public pages we check. We don’t store the names of organisers or members. Where a club’s only presence is one person’s public account, we store that account as the club’s page, not the person. If that’s you and you’d rather not be listed, email us and the listing comes down the same day; see opting out.
Hosting and email
The site runs on Vercel and the database on Neon, both in the US. Email to hello@clubsirl.com is read by one person and kept as long as the conversation is useful.
Your rights
Ask hello@clubsirl.com what we hold about you or your club and we’ll tell you, and remove it if you want. Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we got this wrong.
