New York · 130+ clubs to discover · Checked 3 Oct

Every club in New York. And when it actually meets.

Run clubs, book clubs, board games, climbing, choirs, pickup sports and more: every club and social group in New York that meets in person, with the day and time it meets. The easiest way to meet people here. Nothing to join. Just show up.

Start with what you’re into.

Running, books, games, music, the outdoors. Pick one and see what’s on this week.

What this is.

Every recurring club and social group in New York that a stranger can walk into, on one page, with the thing other lists leave out: the day and time it actually meets. Over 130 so far, from run crews and book clubs to chess nights, choirs, climbing meetups and pickup sports.

New York has more clubs than any city on earth and no way to find most of them: run crews that cross the Williamsburg Bridge at dawn, chess in Washington Square, book clubs in Fort Greene bars, pickup basketball at the Cage, choirs in Astoria churches, a bike ride leaving Grand Army Plaza every night of the week. The clubs exist. What has been missing is a single place that says which night, what time, and whether it is still going.

The hard part of joining anything is not finding it. It is turning up alone and wondering whether it is still going. Here, every day and time is the one the club itself publishes, and it stays current. If a club goes quiet, its listing says so.

There is nothing to join. Every listing links out to the club, and it is free for any club to be here. How we check.

How it works.

  1. Pick what you’re into.

Running, books, games, music, the outdoors. You already know this part.

  2. Pick a day.

Every interest has a week at a glance. Tuesdays at 6:30 means Tuesdays at 6:30.

  3. Go.

Every listing links straight to the club. Glance at their page on the day, then show up.

Run a club? Add it. Free, always.

By neighbourhood.

Where the clubs are. Each link opens that interest’s board, filtered to the area.

Questions people actually ask.

Do I need to sign up for anything?

No. There are no accounts here. Each listing links straight to the club's own page, and most clubs just want you to turn up. Where one does ask you to register first, the listing says so.

Is it free to go?

Most clubs are. Where there is a drop-in fee or a membership, it is written on the listing, so you know before you go.

Are these clubs actually active?

Yes. Every listing shows the day and time the club itself publishes, and listings are kept current. If a club goes quiet, its listing says so rather than quietly staying up.

I'm new to New York. Where do I start?

Pick something you already like doing, then pick an evening. Weeknight clubs are the easiest first visit: everyone arrives on their own, and most groups go for coffee or a drink after.

I run a club. How do I get listed, fix a listing, or take one down?

Use the Add a club link in the menu, or email hello@clubsirl.com. Listing is free, there is no way to pay for placement, and fixes and takedowns are handled the same day.
