What to expect.
Cycling clubs in Vancouver run group rides on a fixed day, usually with two or three pace groups and a published route. Road clubs tend to be weekend mornings; social and city rides are more often weekday evenings and slower.
A working bike and a helmet are the minimum. Many clubs charge an annual membership that covers insurance, and most let you ride once or twice before you join.
